Manchester Airport is one of the largest airports in the UK today and is incredibly popular with more than 21 million passengers passing through one of its three terminals every single year. All of the terminals are linked to the two runways present, the second of which was built in 1997 and opened up far more opportunities for travel. The airport currently covers more than 170 destinations worldwide.
Located in the Greater Manchester area, Manchester Airport was initially a small military airport. Opened in 1938, it played a major part in World War II but it has really come into its own since it was renamed from its initial moniker of Ringway Airport in 1986. Since then, it has won various awards, including the 1995 World’s Best Airport and 2001’s European Airport Of The Year.
The facilities at Manchester Airport are absolutely phenomenal. All three terminals have a range of facilities available to travellers and it is virtually impossible not to be entertained when passing through.
