Exeter International Airport (EXT)
Exeter Airport is located just five miles outside of the city centre and is one of the fastest growing airports in the country today. It has quickly developed to offer commercial flights to over 40 destinations around the world, meaning that passengers are in no way limited to European travel from this airport.
Exeter Airport officially opened on 31st May 1937. It was designed to be a commercial hub and has been ever since, although the number of passengers passing through has increased in recent years. More than a million people pass through Exeter Airport every year and that number is increasing every year. There are plans for expansion of the facilities as well as those for an extra terminal. Although nothing has been given the green light yet, do not be surprised if this airport expands significantly in the future.
For now though, there are comprehensive facilities to take advantage of. There are disabled facilities available, including wheelchair and luggage assistance but you will need to confirm that you plan to travel with the airport in advance to make sure that you have access to the required facilities.
