East Midlands Airport (EMA)
East Midlands Airport, also known as Nottingham East Midlands, is a one terminal airport that is conveniently located in the Midlands and is second only in the area to Birmingham Airport in relation to the number of passengers that pass through every year. At the moment, it has only one terminal but the traffic through it is growing all the time.
East Midlands Airport actually opened in 1965 after having been used by the Royal Airforce and then as a freight site for some years. It is currently a part of the Manchester Airport Group and has been since 2001 so expect plans for expansion and refurbishment to go through shortly in order to improve the facilities and services on offer.
Finally, the disabled facilities are fantastic. For example, you have wheelchair loan, boarding assistance, guide dog allowance, disabled toilets and comprehensive disabled parking so you can find everything you need there.
